PAL & Toast are Awarding Winning Films |
|
PAL was shown last September in the Nuneaton Odeon cinema with all the tickets sales being donated to charity. The film has gone from strength to strength with it now being on sale in America on Amazon.com and also paldvd.co.uk in the UK. Renderyard are also distributing the film in America with a possibility of it being available on download services Itunes and Netflix.
The film was totally self funded but the next project we plan to apply for some grants and private investment so that we can make a much larger scale film. Excluding the price of the camera and sound equipment the actual film cost short of £1000. The feed back we had from the film has been great and we have learned a lot from the process. The group has had further success picking up best film under ten minutes at the Heart of England International film festival which was held in Tamworth for their nine minute film Toast. Watson said "It really is a dream come true, the film was written and directed by our leading actor Sam Foster who we are delighted for.
Body in the Box Productions are celebrating a fortnight of success winning two prestigious awards. The feature film PAL which was complet ed last year won best film under 80 minutes at the Swansea Bay film festival which was attended by Frost/Nixon star Michael Sheen. Co Director Richard Miller said "We really didn't expect to win any awards for the film, we knew we had been nominated and the organisers asked us to write an acceptance speech in case we had won but we thought that the chance was so slim that we would win we didn't bother. So when we had to go up to accept the award myself and co-director John Watson had very few words to say. We were in total shock.".
